Even simple things covered with brass, leather and copper can bring the essence of the stampunk nature into our real life.

It's nice! Can this camera actually be used?

Probably. Looks like a Panny mirrorless (19mm 2.8?) with some mods glued to it. I'd had gone with the silver version to mod, but when you've already bought the black version, you just have to work with what you have.

Thanks for asking.
The mod was initially made in purpose of using the camera (GF-1, 20mm 1.7) on the Steamcon IV (Bellevue, WA).
Strong double-adhesive tape was used to secure copper plates. The lens still can be manually focused, but I rarely do so.
Yes, I made a lot of pictures with it : )
The only cons - camera become little more heavy. So after few months of using the mod, I've reverted it : )

I couldn't remember the lens. When you look at tons of cameras and prime lenses...you start to forget what length and speed exactly. I knew which one I was talking about if the numbers were slightly off. As for weight....I can't imagine it being too much heavier than what it is, LOL. I have a NEX with Canon FD lenses, so it's still way lighter than my full DSLR. But if you're only used to something weight less than 2 lbs and it goes to 3lbs...that's a significant weight gain.

Yes, the weight difference is small, just the holding balance is little less comfortable : )
And I prefer as small as possible cameras and lens.
